Thicker Than Blood

Thicker Than Blood

The breath I am required to take,
is woven with a tired humble ache.
Once drawn my pollution intrudes,
menacing my air with crass platitudes.
Supposed refreshing this atomic draft,
seeps deep begins its congealed craft.
Fears and guilts diffuse my humidity,
adding density to my breath’s quiddity.
Exhaled substance burdened by stains,
cold fog thicker than blood in my veins.
